Who we help
I work with children and young people who experience things like:
-
Difficulty with reading, writing, or focus
-
Big emotions, meltdowns, or rigid "all or nothing" thinking
-
Sensory sensitivities to touch, noise, light, food textures, or clothing
-
Anxiety, especially around transitions or new situations
-
Clumsiness and poor coordination
-
Speech delays
-
Fidgety and hyperactivity
-
Challenges with fine motor patterns
-
Children who are "managing", but only just (and with enormous effort)
You don't need a diagnosis to start this work, and if you have one, we won't be led by it.
A diagnosis can be a useful signpost, but it describes what we see, not why it's there. Two children with the same label can have completely different developmental histories, different gaps, and need entirely different things. That's why we don't begin with the diagnosis; we begin with the child in front of us.
From their birth and developmental milestones to their particular pattern of strengths and struggles, we're looking for gaps. These gaps are places in the developmental sequence where the brain didn't get the input it needed, or didn't get the chance to complete what it started. Once we can see those clearly, we have something to work with.
As I see it, every gap is simply a disconnection waiting to be integrated. And with the right input, at the right time, integration is always possible.
If you are noticing developmental difficulties or challenges, there is no better time to start than right now!
